Aircraft Parts

Wichita, KS: (Oct-24-07) Federal prosecutors brought charges against Hawker Beechcraft Corp., a Wichita aircraft manufacturer, alleging that it improperly charged the government for spare parts. Following the filing of the charges, investigators had been looking into charges involving the Joint Primary Aircraft Training Program. Though the company denied the allegations and did not admit to any wrongdoing, it agreed however, to pay the government more than $280,000. The trainer for the program is a single-engine turboprop built in Wichita for use by the Air Force and Navy. Further, the company also agreed to reimburse the government for the cost of weight-on-wheels boxes. [KANSAS CITY STAR: AIRCRAFT PARTS]
