Ice Storm Damage

Pulaski County, MO: (Oct-26-07) Pulaski County filed charges against the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency, over reimbursement for January's ice storm damage. As part of a settlement reached, Pulaski County Commissioners announced that they had received a $34,491 check from the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency, bringing the total from state and federal sources to $321,920. Sources stated that that figure reflects 85% of the county's total expenses to recover from storm damage, much of which involved removal of brush and broken tree limbs. Records show that the ice storm cost the county more than $50,000, primarily by way of wear and tear on equipment, wages of supervisory personnel assigned to monitor 11 temporary employees hired for road cleanup, higher workers' compensation insurance premiums, and other expenses.
