Tractor Trailer Truck Accident

Bellefonte, PA: (Oct-30-07) The estates of Stacy MacIntyre, 31, and son, William MacIntyre IV, 20 months, brought a lawsuit against VanWYK Trucking Inc. and the estate of truck driver John Huffman, who collided with a 52-car pileup near the Loganton exit of Interstate 80, killing six people including the plaintiffs. Sources claimed that Huffman's tractor trailer was going too fast for the conditions during a white out on Dec. 28, 2001 and slammed into a tractor trailer hauling powdered iron ore, driven by Nathan Hicks of Howard. Hicks' truck exploded and engulfed two tractor trailer trucks and 12 cars and caused the death of Stacy and William MacIntyre IV, and Huffman.

As part of a settlement reached, the two MacIntyres reached an out-of-court deal, which was not disclosed to the public. Experts stated that the settlement included millions of dollars. [THE EXPRESS: FATAL TRUCK ACCIDENT]
