Los Angeles, CA: (Oct-31-07) The Regents of the University of California and Boston Scientific Corp. brought a lawsuit against Ev3 Inc. pertaining to a patent infringement case and other related litigation. Company spokespersons stated that the litigation involved products such as the embolic protection devices and certain detachable embolic coils.
As part of a settlement reached, sources confirmed that Ev3 Inc., a medical device maker, agreed in principle to resolve patent infringement and other litigation with a one-time payment of about $11.7 million to the University of California and of about $3.7 million to Boston Scientific.
