Workers Compensation
This is a settlement for the Workers Compensation lawsuit.
Bridgeport, CT: (Oct-31-07) Nancy Martino brought a lawsuit against Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and Restaurant, alleging that she sustained injuries while working as a waitress at the chain restaurant. The case was put before the Workers' Compensation Commission, claiming that 46-year-old Martino was working as a waitress in the restaurant on Research Drive in Milford when on Aug. 11, 1999, when she was injured carrying dishes through the kitchen. She claimed that her foot got caught on broken floor tiles and she fell on the floor, hurting her back and spine. As a result of the fall, her legal counsel stated that she has trouble walking and now must rely on a wheelchair to get around. As part of a settlement reached with the chain restaurant, Martino was awarded $900,000, resolving the personal injury lawsuit.
