Landslide Mitigation
Las Vegas, NV: (Nov-06-07) The Nevada County Board of Supervisors brought charges against Lexington Insurance, after a dispute between Lexington and the county arose when a landslide occurred on the hill above the Cascade Shores sewer treatment plant in May 2005. The suit stated that though Lexington Insurance paid the emergency repairs, it had not agreed to fully mitigate the landslide.
As part of a settlement reached between the two parties, Lexington Insurance agreed to pay $2 million to the county towards the ultimate resolution of the Cascade Shores sewer plant upgrade or other needs of the Cascade Shores sewer zone. The agreement stated that the $2 million includes $700,000 previously paid and $1,300,000 to be paid upon signing of the settlement. [YUBA NET: LANDSLIDE INSURANCE]
