Survival School
Salt Lake City, UT: (Nov-12-07) The family of Dave Buschow brought a wrongful death lawsuit against Boulder Outdoor Survival School, a wilderness survival facility, after the New Jersey man died of dehydration in 2006. Experts stated that the death occurred during a grueling course in southern Utah.
As part of a settlement reached, Boulder Outdoor Survival School said it was creating an annual scholarship in the name of Dave Buschow for people who want to attend the course. Sources close to the case confirmed that the settlement included a monetary payout as well, though it was being kept confidential. Buschow's parents, Patricia Herbert and Brad Buschow, had sued the Colorado-based school and four employees in federal court, claiming negligence in their son's death. [YAHOO: SURVIVAL SCHOOL DEATH]
