Inmate Death

Dayton, OH: (Nov-14-07) The estate of Brian Mandich, who died in the Montgomery County Jail, bought a wrongful death lawsuit against Montgomery County. Records state that the county coroner ruled that the 38-year-old West Carrollton man died from cardiac dysrhythmia complicated by schizophrenia, heart disease, and a physical struggle. Mary Mandich, administrator of the estate, filed suit against the county, ascribing negligence, as one of the key factors in the death. Though the county did not admit any liability or responsibility in the 2003 incident, it agreed to pay $21,000 to resolve the wrongful death dispute. [DAYTON DAILY NEWS: INMATE DEATH]
