Loan Application

Nashville, TN: (Nov-27-07) Tennessee state regulators brought charges against Bill Heard Chevrolet, which had been owned by Bill Heard Enterprises of Columbus, GA, alleging that the Nashville dealership falsified a mother and daughter's income on a loan application so they could buy a brand new Chevrolet Cavalier. Sources claimed that the vehicle was later repossessed after the two couldn't afford to make payments, and that the company later paid off the delinquent loan and settled a separate lawsuit with the mother and daughter.

As part of a settlement reached with the Tennessee Motor Vehicle Commission, Bill Heard Chevrolet of Nashville agreed to pay $15,000 to resolve allegations. The Nashville dealership was sold in the summer of 2007 to new owners and renamed Autofair Chevrolet. As part of the deal, Bill Heard Enterprises will have to get approval from the commission to open any new branches in Tennessee. [TENNESSEAN: LOAN APPLICATION FRAUD]
