School Fire
Guilford County, NC: (Dec-05-07) In an insurance lawsuit over the destroyed Eastern Guilford High School, the school board sought compensation for the damages caused by a fire on November 1, 2006. School officials claimed that it estimated that it would cost more than $60 million to build a new Eastern Guilford High School. The board has included $45 million in a proposed $454 million school bond. In a recent development, sources claimed that the Guilford County School Board has accepted a final insurance settlement of $17,632,428.16 for Eastern Guilford High School, resolving the insurance suit.
