Stillwater Disclosures
Stillwater County, MT: (Dec-10-07) Several stockholders and investors brought a lawsuit against Stillwater Mining Company, challenging the accuracy of the company's public disclosures concerning financial results and ore reserves. In addition to Delaware, the investors filed suit in federal courts in New York and Montana in 2002. Sources close to the case confirmed that the company had reached a settlement in which stockholders have won a $2.6 million settlement against the company. The agreement stated that stockholders who owned Stillwater shares from April 20, 2001, to April 1, 2002, are eligible to apply for part of the settlement fund. Reports state that Stillwater reported $613.1 million in sales in 2006, making it the world's largest palladium miner. Under the settlement agreement, the investors' attorneys stand to receive $50,000.
