Cadet Rape

Waynesboro, VA: (Dec-13-07) The family of a 14-year-old Connecticut boy brought charges against the Fishburne Military School, alleging that the teen was raped in 2006, by a fellow student. The suit stated that the boy was attacked by Robert Munford, then 16, of Lynchburg, sodomizing him with a condom-topped mop handle. The rape apparently came later. Munford tried to sodomize a second cadet, also 14-years-old, with the sharp end of a flag staff. Records stated that Munford eventually pleaded in juvenile court to assaulting the two classmates. The suit accused the school of negligence, and for placing Munford in a position of power with easy access to his victims. As part of a settlement agreement, Fishburne Military School will pay $250,000 to the family of the former cadet.
