Ballot Measures

Monterey, CA: (Jan-09-08) LandWatch Monterey County and the Rancho San Juan Opposition Coalition brought charges against the County of Monterey, over two ballot measures. Sources close to the case stated that the parties had reached a settlement agreement, under which the county has agreed to pay $511,717 in attorneys' and court fees to resolve allegations. Officials claimed that the deal was struck after months of negotiations between Monterey County lawyers and plaintiffs LandWatch Monterey County and the Rancho San Juan Opposition Coalition.
