NASCAR Plane Crash

Sanford, FL: (Jan-12-08) Joe Woodard brought a lawsuit against NASCAR after five people, including two children, were killed, and others were injured after a plane slammed into two homes on July 10, 2007. The plane crash took the lives of Woodard's wife, Janice, and infant son Josiah. Sources close to the case confirmed that as part of a settlement reached, NASCAR was asked to make a donation to the Janice and Joseph Woodard Scholarship Fund, which provides a full three-year scholarship to a student of Florida A&M University, which Janice attended. Records stated that Woodard wanted to put the tragedy behind him after agreeing to an undisclosed settlement with NASCAR. The pilot and co-pilot of the plane had NASCAR connections. The settlement resolved legal action for the present. [CENTRAL FLORIDA NEWS: NASCAR PLANE CRASH]
