Residency Program
Okmulgee, OK: (Jan-18-08) Ardent Health Services, owner of the Oklahoma State University Medical Center, brought charges against the University, over issues pertaining to its medical residency program in Tulsa. Ardent, the University, and the Oklahoma Health Care Authority have been in mediation since Ardent sued seeking the federal Indirect Medical Education funds. Sources close to the case stated that the parties had reached a settlement, resolving the dispute. Under the settlement agreement, Oklahoma State University regents set aside $12 million in an escrow account that would be paid to Ardent to resolve the dispute. Ardent will continue management of the hospital, which Ardent wanted to return to OSU.
