Light Rail Contract
This is a settlement for the Commercial lawsuit.
St. Louis, MO: (Jan-22-08) Cross County Collaborative (CCC) brought a lawsuit against Metro, seeking to recover $28 million in legal fees and other costs spent in Metro's litigation involving the MetroLink extension project from Forest Park to Shrewsbury. Sources stated that the suit stemmed from Metro pursuing an $81 million award in alleged damages from four design and construction firms, known as the Cross County Collaborative, that worked on MetroLink's eight-mile light-rail extension.
In a recent development in the case, officials stated that the parties had reached a settlement agreement, in which Metro agreed to a $6 million payout to resolve allegations. St. Louis County spokesman Mike Jones stated that the settlement includes a $2.56 million awarded to CCC on its claims of breach of contract, and dismisses the remainder of claims for legal fees and the possibility of any appeal.
