Compound License

Cranbury, NJ: (Jan-22-08) Competitive Technologies, Inc. brought charges against biodrug developer Palatin Technologies, Inc., over a license agreement dispute. As part of the settlement, the existing license agreement between Palatin and Competitive Technologies has been terminated. Competitive Technologies is a Fairfield, CT-based company that provides technology transfer and licensing services to intellectual property owners. Palatin will keep all rights to bremelanotide, a compound that the company is testing in clinical trials for male erectile dysfunction and female sexual dysfunction.

Additionally, Palatin will make a one-time payment of $800,000 to Competitive Technologies, and granted it all rights to compounds that Palatin stopped developing in 2000. Officials stated that Palatin is not required to make any future payments to Competitive Technologies. [NEW JERSEY BUSINESS: LICENSE DISPUTE]
