Bank Transaction

Lubbock, TX: (Feb-26-08) The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. brought charges against the president of City Bank, Mike Liner. The Federal Deposit Insurance did not make the allegations it brought pubic against the banking head, but officials confirmed that a settlement had been reached between the parties. Under the terms of the deal, Mike Liner agreed to pay the $25,000 fine levied against him by the federal body. Curtis Griffith, chairman for the Lubbock-based financial institution, said Liner, who paid the fine out of his own pocket, was admonished for assisting a customer with a cash deposit transaction that the customer should have personally handled. Records stated that the transaction took place six years ago. Agency officials claimed that Liner was ordered to pay the fine as part of a civil settlement. There were no criminal findings involved.
