Ticket Scalper

Kansas City, MO: (Feb-28-08) Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon's office brought a lawsuit against Illinois based GoTickets Inc., a ticket broker, alleging that the business violated consumer protection laws in the sale of Hannah Montana and Border Showdown football tickets. The suit, filed against GoTickets Inc. and two other brokers in October 2007, accused them of violating laws by scalping tickets for the December 2007 Hannah Montana concert at the Sprint Center. Nixon then obtained a temporary restraining order preventing them to sell tickets for the Border Showdown football game on Nov. 24, 2007. Nixon claimed that the company violated consumer protection laws by omitting the fact that when consumers purchased a ticket, GoTickets had not secured a seat at the venue, and for omitting the fact that selling tickets at prices above face value was a violation of anti-scalping ordinances in Kansas City and St. Louis. As part of a settlement reached, GoTickets Inc. will pay the state of Missouri $7,500 to resolve claims. [MY FOX NEWS: TICKET SCALPER]
