Hidden Cash Found
Sanford, FL: (Mar-20-08) Lana Quinn, a widow of a bail bondsman, brought a lawsuit in 2007 in state circuit court in Sanford, FL, seeking an award for the money found in her home, following her husband's death. The suit claimed that the money was neatly packaged, vacuum-sealed and locked inside a strongbox hidden in the attic of the Quinn's Sanford home.
Bernard Salcedo, a man who later bought the house, stated that he found the $100,000 while looking for a wiring problem in the attic. The money was hidden before Scott Quinn was stabbed to death in 2003, at the age of 37. Lana Quinn filed suit asking a judge to award her the money. As part of a settlement reached, Lana Quinn was ordered to share a portion of it with Bernard Salcedo. Though it was not made public as to how much each person will get, Quinn's attorney stated that the settlement was satisfactory to his client. [ORLANDO SENTINEL: CASH-IN-THE-ATTIC DISPUTE SETTLED]
