Misrepresentation

Colorado Springs, CO: (May-07-08) Shawna Jimenez of Colorado Springs brought a lawsuit against attorney Frank Azar, popularly known as Frank "The Strong Arm" Azar, alleging that she was cheated by his television commercials, which promise big settlements from insurance companies. The 40-year-old woman alleged that she was injured in a car crash in 2004, and was subsequently coerced to take a settlement of $25,000. Jimenez' legal counsel alleged that the law firm made clients take quick settlements and did not fight sufficiently for their clients.

Azar's attorney says Jimenez willingly agreed to the settlement. Court papers show that El Paso County jurors acquitted Azar's firm and one of his attorneys of theft and false advertising, but the defendants were found guilty of negligence and misrepresentation. As part of a settlement reached, Shawna Jimenez was awarded $145,000 in damages, resolving the lawsuit. Azar stated that he will appeal the court's decision. Frank Azar & Associates not only made false promises but literally submitted false bills on my behalf. Trying to defraud Medicare, GEICO, myself my children and the STATE of Colorado.
This is an FCA violation and also a civil right violation. I am a disabled man, and I believed this person could help. While I was drugged and in pain, Fank Azar & Associates did nothing but watch me suffer and change lies and MOCK me in my suffering. When I fired them, they continued to hold money on my behalf for over a month causing severe economic damage. After firing them, they illegally called my insurance, GEICO and told them I had a Medicare lien. I do not. I was never treated for a car related accident, yet they submitted false bills. Frank Azar & Associates tried to also fraud me by telling me they needed to create a trust fund in their name since I am on disability. Another total lie.
