Santa Rosa, CA: (May-08-08) Burst.com, Inc. brought a lawsuit against RealNetworks, Inc., alleging that the company infringed on its patents. In a recent development in the case, sources stated that the two sides had reached a settlement agreement, resolving the dispute.
Under the terms of the deal, RealNetworks agreed to pay Burst a one-time payment of $533,500 cash for a license to a subset of the Burst patents. Company spokespersons said that the license is non-exclusive and does not provide pass through license rights.
