Engineering Flaws

Lake County, IL: (May-15-08) The Lake County has been embroiled in a legal battle with RQAW Corp. over flaws in the engineering and architectural design of a construction project. The project was a work-release facility in downtown Waukegan. Sources familiar with the lawsuit stated that the two sides reached a settlement agreement, in which the RQAW Corp. will pay the county $200,000 to resolve the dispute. The county, as part of the deal, made the agreement confidential and imposed a gag order on itself. Officials said that apart from the payout, the exact settlement terms cannot be made public under the settlement agreement, which prohibits disclosure of the terms.
