Coldwater Ranch Agrees to pay $50,000 settlement in roads dispute.
Cache County, UT: (May-29-08) Cache County and Coldwater Ranch have been embroiled in a legal wrangle over swapping dozens of miles of roads, which led to a public-versus-private land dispute. Sources close to the case stated that as part of a settlement agreement reached between the two sides, Cache County and Coldwater Ranch agreed to resolve the dispute, leaving the county with miles of road that follow part of the traditional Hyrum Dry Canyon road.
Under the terms of the deal, the county agrees to vacate all other roads within Coldwater Ranch, which it had maintained were public in the lawsuit. Cache County also agrees to fence along the south side of the 66-foot-wide easements, in the agreement. Coldwater will give the county $50,000 to help with improvements upon the vacation of the other roads.
