Law Firm Settles with San Diego for $2.8 Million
This is a settlement for the Securities/Stock Fraud lawsuit.
The San Diego law firm of Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe have announced that they will pay a settlement to the City of San Diego of $2.3 million, resolving allegations that the firm failed to disclose the extent of the city's pension debt while the firm served as the city's bonded and disclosure counsel. The city filed the suit nearly three years ago, in 2005.
This settlement follows an earlier one announced in mid-June, in which the city reached a $4.35 million settlement with the law firm of Vinson and Elkins, who were retained to run an independent investigation of the city's disclosure practices.
