$1 Million Preliminary Settlement Reached in ValueClick Class Action
This is a settlement for the Internet/Technology lawsuit.
ValueClick and its subsidiaries Commission Junction and Be Free have reached a preliminary settlement in the class action they are facing, that alleges that the online advertiser did little to no monitoring of its own network in order to ensure that its codes of conduct were adhered to.
As part of the settlement, ValueClick has agreed to pay $1 million into a compensatin settlement fund for members of the class action.
In March, 2008, Valueclick and a subsidiary, Hi-Speed Media were ordered to pay $2.9 million in civil penalties arising from violations of the CAN-SPAM act.
