Great White Settles Over Station NightClub Fire
This is a settlement for the Fire Accidents lawsuit.
The 1980s rock band, Great White, has agreed to pay $1 million to survivors of people killed in the Station Nightclub fire, which the band's pyrotechnics started. This is the latest settlement for suits originating from the fire in February 2003 that killed 100 people. One band member was also killed in the fire. Approximately $175 million has been paid by defendants to settle lawsuits originating from the fatal blaze.
The settlement must be approved by the 300 plus people suing the band. Last month the town of West Warwick and The State of Rhode Island each agreed to pay $10 million to settle outstanding lawsuits stemming from the fire.
