$2.1 Million Settlement in Elder Abuse Case
This is a settlement for the Financial Elder Abuse lawsuit.
A settlement of $2.1 million has been awarded to the sole heir of a 98-year-old woman and her mentally challenged daughter, in what is being described as a major financial elder-abuse case.
The case has taken 4 years to try, and alleged that the caretaker-neighbors took advantage of Jeannette China and her daughter Mona, and eventually so did financial advisors, lenders and lawyers who were referred by the caretakers.
The settlement provides for the return of the women's $1.1 million home, and monies that they had been duped out of through a series of financial schemes to the heir.
