Hitachi Fined $31 Million for Price Fixing
This is a settlement for the Antitrust lawsuit.
The Japanese electronics manufacture Hitachi has pleaded guilty to allegations of price fixing. The charges involve the sale of liquid crystal display (LCD) panels to Dell Inc. for use in notebook computers and desktop computer monitors between 2001 and 2004. The $31 million fine will be paid to the US Justice Department.
Hitachi is not alone, 3 other LCD manufactures, LG Display Co. Ltd., Sharp Corp., and Chunghwa Picture Tubes Ltd have previouly pled guilty for price fixing.
