City of Fargo To Pay for Excessive Traffic Fines
This is a settlement for the Antitrust lawsuit.
A million dollar settlement of a class action lawsuit against the City of Fargo, ND, was approved today by a federal judge.
The lawsuit alleged that the City had been charging excessive traffic fines - that they illegally exceed those in the state's Century Code.
The City has agreed to pay up to $1.5 million for eligible claims that were submitted by early November, as part of the settlement.
There are at least 13,900 eligible claims pending, according to media reports, which will amount to more than $1 million settlement.
