Car Accident Victim Awarded $21 Million
This is a settlement for the Personal Injury lawsuit.
San Bernardino, CA: A 27-year old man who suffered a paralyzing stroke following injuries he sustained during a car crash has been awarded $21 million in settlement monies.
Michael Nelsen was a passenger riding in the back seat of a car that was traveling at about 15 miles per hour when it was rear-ended in stop-and-go traffic by a van traveling at about 80 miles per hour. Despite wearing his seatbelt, Nelson sustained a burst lumbar fracture at L1 and a severe fracture to his left femur which led to severe blood clotting and pulmonary emboli. This culminated in a severe stroke, leaving him paralyzed on his right side.
