BART to Pay $1.5 Million for Fatal Shooting

This is a settlement for the Wrongful Death lawsuit.

San Francisco, CA: The Bay Area Transit Authority (BART) announced Wednesday that it will pay $1.5 million to the mother of Oscar Grant III's young daughter. Grant was fatally shot by a BART police officer more than a year ago. The payment is part of a $50 million lawsuit filed against the transit authority.
