Jury Awards $1Million Settlement In Medical Malpractice
This is a settlement for the Medical Malpractice lawsuit.
Kings County, NY: The family of a 63-year old man, who filed a medical malpractice suit on behalf of their deceased father, were recently awarded $1 million by a jury after a six day trial.
The suit alleged that the father of seven, who had undergone quadruple bypass surgery and was subsequently placed in a telemetry unit and had his hear monitored, had not been prescribed potassium tablets immediately following the surgery. The plaintiffs contended that as a result, their father went into ventricular fibrillation suffering a loss of cognitive brain function.
The jury took one hour to deliberate and returned a verdict for the plaintiff, awarding a $1million settlement.
