$1.9M Settlement Reached in Stun Gun Incident
This is a settlement for the Personal Injury lawsuit.
Novato, CA: A $1.9 million settlement has been agreed by Marin County in the lawsuit brought against sheriff's deputies who allegedly used excessive force against a 66-year old man. The senior was repeatedly stunned with a taser at his home.
Video footage of the incident, taken from a camera attached to the stun gun, shows the man on his couch on ignoring a deputy's order to put his hands behind his back. Deputies had apparently been called to the home by paramedics after the man fell and allegedly made a reference to shooting himself in the head. The man was shot with the stun gun after he stood up.
