Woman Wins $546,000 In Suit Against Disney
This is a settlement for the Personal Injury lawsuit.
Orlando, FL: A $546,000 settlement has been awarded by a jury hearing the personal injury case of a woman who alleged she was hit in the head by a patio umbrella at Disneyland.
The plaintiff, Katherine Harrison, claimed in her suit that while she was seated at an outdoor restaurant in the theme park, she was struck by the metal pole of a patio umbrella that had become loose and flew into her.
Following the incident, she alleges she made complaints of having a headache, and 11 days later she suffered a grand mal seizure. She contended that the incident had caused a diffuse axonal brain injury. Harrison sued Walt Disney Co., Disneyland and related entities, alleging they were negligent in failing to properly secure the umbrella.
