Groupon Canada Reaches Tentative Settlement
Toronto, ON: A potential consumer fraud class action lawsuit pending against Groupon over expired deal purchases has reached a proposed settlement.
The lawsuit, filed in Canada, alleges that Groupon' use of, and representations to, consumers about the expiry date and partial redemption provisions in its contracts are illegal practices. The settlement must still be approved by the Ontario Superior Court, and the hearing is scheduled for July 2. If approved, a settlement fund of $535,000 will be established.
