$835M Settlement Reached In Dow Polyurethane Antitrust Class Action Lawsuit
This is a settlement for the Agent Orange-Related Ilnesses lawsuit.
Santa Clara, CA: An $835 million settlement has been reached in an antitrust class action lawsuit against the Dow Chemical Company over allegations the chemical giant conspired to fix prices of polyurethane.
The agreement, accepted by the US Supreme Court, will resolve a 2013 judgement against Dow for $1.06 billion. Though the company has agreed to settle on the class action, it denies any involvement in a conspiracy, and claims that the judgement is flawed.
The judgment covered the period of activity between 2000 and 2003, while the investigation undertaken by the US Department of Justice was closed in 2007 without any action being taken against the chemical company.
