I submitted my claim a few months' ago, when can I expect my money?

    • LAS_Admin April 2, 2012 at 3:42 pm

Hi Martha, Good for being on top of things! Unfortunately, with a class action, you have to wait until all the slackers submit their claim forms–ie, till the final claim submission date–before the claims administrator will begin to disburse settlement funds or vouchers or whatever the terms of the settlement provide for claimants. The reason for this is that with a settlement fund, the claims administrator has to first know how many claimants will share in the settlement–and that requires not only having all the claim forms submitted, but also having them reviewed, as some claims will be missing information or invalid for whatever reason. So for the Reebok toning shoes class action settlement, once the final cut-off date for claim submissions happens, the claims administrator can process claims and begin to send out checks or vouchers (according to the settlement) to claimants–and that process could take a few months. So be patient!

Well I'm not a slacker and just found out about this from my physical therapist last week as I am trying to rebuild my strength in my legs, these shoes may have been the reason for my injuries… Now I am SOL because the date to file was 4/11/12… Looks like I will be going it on my own since I am now having both hips pinned and 2 total knees, not to mention the ankle involvement. I think the FDA needs to step in since these were advertised as "a safe healthy way" to exercise your legs and butt. There was nothing medical about these shoes other than the costs incurred trying to undo the damage to my legs and hips.

Lady! All those issues cannot possibly be due to these sneakers. It sounds like your legs went through a meat grinder. You most likely had issues prior to wearing the shoes unless you just dont know how to use your legs for walking.

  • Teresa Spry May 16, 2012 at 4:39 pm

So if there is no "injury yet" is there no refund? I won't be wearing these anymore!
I just heard about this on the news today. Please let me know what I need to do.
    Thanks,
    Teresa

I just found out about this today also!! I don't know if this has anything to do with it but I had a neuroma form in my foot and had to have surgery after I bought these shoes. Is there nothing we can do to try and at least get our money back for them if we missed the deadline?

  • Ana Marie May 24, 2012 at 8:30 am

My lower back is sooo bad right now. I didn't know about this and I did 1 hr of walking with the shoes on tuesday and I can't walk because of the pain in my hips!!! I think these shoes should be recalled because they're dangerous and are harming people. Is there another case against reebok for injuries claims?

  • Gail Ring June 10, 2012 at 9:31 am

Another one that fell for the hype, just found out about the lawsuit and missed the deadline!!!! Is there anyting I can do?

  • Rita June 11, 2012 at 10:37 pm

I have two pairs of Reboks. I just heard of this settlement. I'd like to know if I can still do anything about them. I'd like to have my money back or exchange for two different pairs.

  • Rita Moret June 11, 2012 at 10:39 pm

I just heard about the problems with the toning Rebok Shoe. I'd like to know if it would be possible to have my money back or exchange the shoes for new different ones.

  • ann July 5, 2012 at 12:06 am

I filed a claim when they first came out about the shoes was not that great, and was not doing what they say. I have not received any thing yet. My mother bought me 2 pair.

  • Becca July 11, 2012 at 11:10 am

Is there any update on the refunds? I sent in my claim before Christmas 2011 and have not heard anything.

    • LAS_Admin July 12, 2012 at 7:09 am

Hi Becca, The last date to submit a claim was in April, and according to the claims administrator, "checks will mail to valid, timely submitted claims no later than August 8, 2012." So chances are it's in the works.

I just know about this problem, I have a run tone reebok, Could I do something??. I realize that this shoes were the problem of my ankles….Thank you

  • Valerie Permint August 22, 2012 at 12:33 pm

I filed a claim on December 11, 2011. I still have not heard anything. What gives?

  • Katherine Wester October 13, 2012 at 10:40 am

I filed a claim 9/28/2011 and have yet to hear anything. Should I contact someone?

    • LAS_Admin October 13, 2012 at 4:05 pm

Hi Katherine, Certainly worth it to give the claims administrator a call. While settlement claims can take a while to review and then distribute–particularly if it's a complicated settlement (which this one wasn't really as settlements go). Since claims on this were due last spring, it's been a while–here's the web page with the claims administrator's contact info http://www.reeboksettlement.com/AdditionalInforma…. Give it a try.

I have called the number numerous times only to get the same response. My claim was filed on 9-29-11. They tell me each time I called that they had a "problem" with submissions and they are reviewing the issue. They can give me no date as to when I can expect a resolution. They even tried to tell me they had no record of my submission. I had to send them the copy with the refund request number. Do I have any recourse here? I have been holding onto this paperwork forever. You would think SOMEONE could tell me something by now..

I got my reebok slimtone in august 2012 and realized that i had constant problems with my shin while walking, so stopped wearing them. Can I still claim back for them?

  • nellie January 5, 2014 at 7:25 pm

I wasn't aware of the lawsuit. I have a pair of these shoes in my closet. I will not wear them anymore since they have the high risk of causing injury. What can I do now since I have missed the filing date?

  • Lorimar November 1, 2014 at 8:59 pm

So I have just walked the semi marathon in those and my whole legs are killing me, knees are very painful. So just did a research and found out about the false claims and worse the damage the shoes can cause. So I am late to claim the refund as so many other people I am sure. What happens to all that money that is not given to the customers?

  • Karin March 13, 2015 at 1:20 am

I have been wearing my simply tones for quite some time and have no problems at all with them…in fact their cushioning have been quite helpful for my plantar fasciitis so I don’t know where all this bad rap is coming from…?

  • Stefan Ellis May 2, 2015 at 7:58 am

Still wearing mine in May 2015 and not noticed any adverse effects. They’re comfortable and wear well. No more unsafe or harmful than leather soled or stilettos (never worn I’m a guy) Want to buy more but who stocks them?

  • Mammy September 21, 2015 at 4:19 pm

My daughter loved these shoes so much she asked if I could buy her a new pair when they wore out. I searched every where and came to the conclusion theat they no longer made them. I ended up finding a pair on e-bay her size and bought them. Now her second pair is wearing out and wants me to find another. I told her she was lucky that I found a pair on e-bay. No way will I find her another pair, no wonder, I did not realise there was a recall on them until today Sept. 21, 2015. Too bad she really loves them. My daughter also wears these shoes to her Krav Maga self defense class and has never had a problem.

Years Ago, I bought two pairs of Easy Tone ( black and white) for my job where I stood on concrete for six hours in the same exact spot. I specifically purchased them for all the extra added comfort for my feet while standing at work, and never as a get fit quick buttocks workout. Loved the shoes at the time, they were the most BOUNCIEST pair of sneakers I have ever owned! Its a shame about the lawsuit. Shame shame shame

  • Rina September 15, 2016 at 2:37 am

It is 2016 already, Im from South Africa and also bought a pair of traintone’s in that period. We were not aware of any of this at all. Came across everything this morning when I couldnt remember the name of a shoe. They definetaly kept it as silent as possible for minimum claims!

Hello, I have recently had prob with a neuroma. I have had custom orthotics and been exercising as advised by podiatrists. I have still been having tne foot pain. My mom had a pair of Reebok Simplytone and never wore them so gave to me a few wedks ago. I have been wearing them and first time I have been able to go grocery shopping without severe foot pain.. Amazing..now to.learn that I cant order them.

  • Angie J July 29, 2018 at 2:54 am

I bought these Simply Tone shoes for a new job where I was on the sales floor the whole shift. I loved them. No back pain or foot pain. Felt like I was walking on a cloud. Six years later I still have them. Need a new pair.

  • Patrik August 30, 2019 at 5:20 pm

If these shoes had a problem in 2011 why I was able to buy 8 pairs in between 2014 and 2017? No one said anything to me when I bought the first and last pair.
However, just today I found this claims, and I don’t know if I’m going to be able to get my money back because I’m having a lot of health problems after I got the first pair. I didn’t know we’re the shoes! I already had belly surgery, groin hernia repair, carpal tunnel syndrome fixed, and a shoulder injury after I started using this shoes. So I think I’ll get a lot of money back.
