John Depenbrock filed a lawsuit against his employers claiming they violated his rights to pension benefits. Depenbrock left the company and was rehired 11 months later. A few weeks after that, the corporation introduced a new pension plan with lower payouts and filed Depenbrock under the new plan. CIGNA Corp. has agreed to pay $240,000 in lawyer fees and $800,000 in this ERISA settlement. (Mar-24-05) [LAW NEWS]
