Children's Tylenol and more than 40 other over-the-counter drugs have been recalled by the McNeil Consumer Healthcare unit of Johnson & Johnson due to manufacturing deficiencies. The FDA has warned consumers not to use certain lots of Tylenol Infants' Drops, Children's Tylenol Suspensions, Infants' Motrin Drops, Children's Zyrtec liquid in bottles and Children's Benadryl Allergy liquids in bottles.

In a statement on April 30th, McNeil said that certain lots of infants' and children's Tylenol, Motrin, Zyrtec and Benadryl products may contain too much of the active ingredient, and other products may contain tiny particles or inactive ingredients that may not meet testing requirements. The company said that the products have been recalled as a precautionary measure and parents and caregivers should not administer these products to their children.

After consulting with the FDA, the company said the following brands have been recalled: Tylenol Infants' Drops, Children's Tylenol Suspensions, Children's Tylenol Plus Suspensions, Motrin Infant Drops, Children's Motrin Suspensions, Children's Zyrtec Liquids in Bottles and Children's Benadryl Allergy Liquids in Bottles.

The drugs were made in the United States and distributed to Canada, the Dominican Republic, Dubai, Fiji, Guam, Guatemala, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Panama, Trinidad & Tobago and Kuwait.
