Two Crew Missing in US Coast Guard Helicopter Crash

La Push, WARescue crews are reportedly looking for two crew members who have gone missing after a US Coast Guard helicopter crashed off the coast of Washington State earlier today.

span itemprop="image" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/ImageObject" style="display:block">In total, four crew members were on board the helicopter when it went down. Two were rescued by a civilian near the scene of the accident and were sent immediately to hospital.

Petty officer Nathan Bradshaw, who briefed the press from Seattle, told reporters that rescue crews are looking for the missing crew off the waters of James Island, near La Push, roughly 100 miles west of Seattle. The MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter was en route from Astoria, Oregon to Sitka, Alaska, Bradshaw said.

The Coast Guard lost contact with the helicopter at about 9:30 am Wednesday morning, about 10 minutes before the chopper went down, at 9:43 am, Steve Romberg, communications manager for the Clallam County Sheriff's Office told CNN.
