Two police constables filed an action against their bosses regarding competency related threshold payments. Long serving officers were to receive 1,000 pounds a year for high competence performances but half of those 350 eligible were not granted the money. The police department settled out of court and is paying the two officers 300,000 pounds. The other 150 officers will also each receive a 2,000 pound bonus. (Feb-08-05) [LEEDS TODAY]
