Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

The Federal Labor Department charged the chain store with failing to abide with child labor laws. The 24 violations included 85 teenagers working in Arkansas, New Hampshire, and Connecticut. Wal-Mart agreed to pay $135,540 to settle the federal child-labor charges. (Feb-16-05) [NEWSDAY]
