Carmike Cinemas Inc.

Ten young men filed a lawsuit against the Raleigh theater and its former concessions manager Antonio Hines alleging harassment. The suit claims Hines fondled, kissed, and groped the teenage boys and threatened to change their job duties when they spurned his advances. Carmike Cinemas did not do a background check on Hines which would have revealed he served more than two years in prison for indecent liberties with a minor. Carmike has agreed to pay a $765,000 settlement for negligence in handling harassment complaints. (Sep-28-05) [NEWS RECORD]
