LAWSUITS NEWS & LEGAL INFORMATION
Iron City Constructors and the Boldt Company
The subcontractor to The Boldt Company was working on the Riverside Energy Project in Beloit and allegedly permitted despicable racial symbols, racist graffiti, and epithets to be displayed at their work site. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a racial discrimination lawsuit against the two companies for allegedly allowing a racially hostile work environment. Giles Jefferson and another African American employee were fired for confronting their supervisor about the harassment. Iron City has agreed to a $100,000 settlement; Boldt previously settled the suit for $175,000. (Dec-19-05)
