Austrian Airlines
This is a settlement for the Discrimination lawsuit.
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a lawsuit against the airline on behalf of William Thoman alleging employee age discrimination. The former director of sales claimed his former employer terminated his position because of his age and in retaliation for opposing discriminatory practices in violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. Austrian Airlines has agreed to pay Thoman a $500,000 settlement. Austrian will also take other measures on an international basis to ensure the company does not discriminate against employees protected by U.S. anti discrimination laws. (Dec-29-05)
