LAWSUITS NEWS & LEGAL INFORMATION
Advanced Contracting Corp.
Demolition laborers who worked on construction projects for the company filed a lawsuit for allegedly failing to pay mandated overtime compensation. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of laborers who worked overtime from December 21, 1999 to March 22, 2005. R. Friends Cleaners and Mer Sites staffing agencies were set up to supply low wage demolition workers, but Advanced did not pay the agencies sufficient monies to pay the workers the overtime wages to which they were entitled. The construction contractor has agreed to pay $495,876 in restitution. Laborers who may be eligible to receive compensation from the settlement should contact the Attorney General's Labor Bureau at 212-416-8700. (Feb-09-06)
