New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer filed charges against the music producer for paying and giving gifts to radio stations in exchange for airplay of its artists. Universal Music wanted more airplay for its artists in return for outright bribes to radio station programmers in the form of vacations, electronics and tickets to music and sporting events. Universal Music has agreed to pay a $12 million pay for play settlement. (May-11-06)
