City of Monticello, MN

Rebecca Young was fired from her position as a city receptionist in 2004 for alleged misuse of city equipment. At the time of Young's termination, the city and Monticello Township were engaged in a bitter annexation dispute where Young's husband was the chair of the Monticello Township Citizens Against Annexation group. Young filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against the city and was awarded a $98,000 settlement. (May-24-06) [MONTICELLO TIMES]
