Arizona Diamondbacks

Jason Grimsley was the relief pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks until he was released last June after admitting to federal agents he used illegal performance enhancing drugs. The Diamondbacks refused to pay him the rest of his contract. Grimsley's agent, Joe Bick, along with the Major League Baseball Players Association filed suit against the baseball team for grievance. The Diamondbacks agreed to pay Grimsley the remaining $504,000 of his 2006 salary which will be dispersed to four charitable causes. $278,500 would be split between Garth Brooks' Teammates for Kids Foundation and Christ Community; the other $225,500 will go to Drug Free Arizona and the Diamondbacks Foundation.
